The team at Southern REAP have been wrapping up warm during our fresh Southland winter.

 

The last half of this year we have a lot of new & exciting things coming your way… with new HOBBY classes being introduced. Kicking it off with a 'Adult Beginners Ukulele' 6 week course. Let us know what you would like to see happen, and email us at fun@reap.co.nz with any ideas.

CENTRAL SOUTHLAND

  • WINTON - DIGITAL PHOTOS
    Tuesday 14 AUG 1pm - 3pm, & Tuesday 21 AUG 1pm - 3pm.
    Come along to this 2 part course. Learn about transferring photos from your camera,
    or mobile phone to a computer, Editing techniques, Using a flash drive, Photobooks and much more.

  • WINTON - MICROSOFT WORD
    Tuesday 14 AUG 4pm - 6pm, & Tuesday 21 AUG 4pm - 6pm.
    Come along to this 2 part course. Learn about Getting around Word, Formatting Word documents, Inserting online images, Editing and saving documents, Inserting Word Art / Text
    effects, shapes and text boxes, Word templates & much more.
  • WINTON - MICROSOFT EXCEL
    Tuesday 14 AUG 7pm - 9pm, & Tuesday 21 AUG 7pm - 9pm.
    Come along to this 2 part course. Learn about Getting around Excel, Introduction to workbook and sheets, Creating simple formula, Formatting Excel documents, Create basic charts,  Formulas recap.

  • WINTON - JEROME KAVANAGH - WAKA MAORI TEACHER PD
    Monday 13 AUGUST - 4pm - 5.30pm
    Combining indigenous knowledge with practical experiential learning while utilising modern technology. Jerome will share practical and hands on activities with teachers and educators to be able to share within their centres and schools.

  • WINTON - MAWHITIWHITI BAGS - KOROWAI WEAVING
    Sat 18 AUG & Sun 19 AUG - 9am - 4pm
    A great learning experience for those who have already gained the basic skills in Korowai Weaving. This class will teach the techniques for weaving a small flat bag and a small box bag using mawhitiwhiti patterns.
  • WINTON - NCEA 4 U - Parents & Caregivers
    Classes run during the school terms - $20 each term
    Do you have gaps in your NCEA Qualification you would like to fill?
    We offer options in Winton & Gore for parents and caregivers (over 18), to study in a relaxed environment allowing you to obtain Level 1, 2 or 3 NCEA credits. Classes run during the school term, with childcare provided during the class.
  • One-On-One C.V. PREPARATION with Amanda Keen WINTON
    Do you need to produce or update your C.V. but don't know where to start? We can work with you to get your basic C.V. up-to-date and ready for use.

  • OHAI - SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN AFTERNOON
    Tuesday 17 JULY 12pm - 2.30pm 
    Come along and enjoy a movie afternoon watching the Disney Pixar movie "COCO", picnic food provided. Gold coin donation.


  • OHAI FLAX WEAVING with Ilse Todd OHAI
    Mondays during School Term, 10am - 2pm
    Ohai Playcentre $20 for the term
    Meet weekly during the school term to practice the many skills associated with the traditional art of Māori flax weaving whilst gaining confidence in Tikanga Māori.Learn the techniques for creating your own kakahu (maori cloak)
  • OHAI BLOKES WORKSHOP
    Thursday's at 1.30pm - 4.30pm
    Ohai RSA Hall - FREE
    A chance for men to meet up each week to create, build, learn from others or just hang out for a chat. Work on things such as chainsaws, maintenance on lawnmowers, small building projects, painting, community projects & many more hands on tasks.
   
   

EASTERN SOUTHLAND

  • RIVERSDALE ST JOHN WORKPLACE FIRST AID (Refresher Only)
    Tuesday 24 & Wed 25 JULY - 6pm - 9.30pm
    This 7 hour First Aid class is a revalidation for holders of any Level One First Aid certificate (less than two years old). Refresh your first aid skills, knowledge and confidence with the latest information and techniques through practical scenarios and workstations. This course will be held over 2 nights.

  • MATAURA COMPUTING FOR BEGINNERS with Nathan Iveson
    2, 9, 16, 23, 30 AUGUST - 1pm - 3pm
    Learn Computer Basics, Email Basics, Introduction to Social Media, Facebook Basics over
    5 weekly sessions.


  • GORE GETTING YOUR HEAD AROUND EXCEL with Nathan Iveson
    2, 9, 16, 23, 30 AUGUST - 6pm - 8pm
    Come along and extend your basic Microsoft Excel knowledge over this four week course.

  • MATAURA - BRAINWAVE TRUST: THE EARLY YEARS LAST FOREVER
    TUES 14 AUGUST - 7pm - 8.30pm
    The early years in your child’s life is a time of such wonder and excitement! All Parents, Caregivers, Early Childhood Educators and Teachers are welcome to attend this FREE seminar. Discover: Why their early experiences are so important. Understand: How your relationship and everyday interactions with them can help their brain grow and thrive. Learn: What factors can help or hinder their brain development. Value: The vital role you play in helping them on this journey.
  • GORE NCEA 4 U - Parents & Caregivers
